Mindfulness and Well Being

A Healthier Happier Life.

True health is a balance of mind, body and soul.

Thank you to ancient wisdom and advanced science for offering us a wealth of ways to support our well being.

At the moment we are all about promoting Mindfulness. ‘Being mindful’… What does it even mean? Well, mindfulness is a way of life, by learning how to be aware of our thoughts, feelings and surroundings. When we practice mindfulness our thoughts tune into what we’re sensing in the moment, rather than living in the past or imagining the future.

Being mindful about what we eat and drink, how we care for our skin, how often we exercise and how we choose to spend our free time are all things we should be engaging.

Let’s start with what we eat and drink. What we actually fuel our bodies with. Mindful eating is not a diet. Its a conscious way of eating and enjoying food for both good health and pleasure. Mindful eating is about bringing awareness and appreciation to the experience of eating. When you slow down and pay attention to how and what you eat, you’re more likely to make better decisions that will nourish your body. Avoid processed fake foods and focus on nutrient rich whole foods which nourish from the inside out.

As we step into Spring the days are brighter, longer and warmer, THANK GOODNESS!! Obviously, this is fantastic for our well being, but that doesn’t always mean it’s an easy transition for our skin! Acne, eczema and rosacea are all conditions that can flare due to temperature changes, increased sunlight and a number of other factors. So,whats the solution? By making small changes to your skin care routine, your diet and making sure that you are keeping hydrated, will give you and your skin a great boost into spring. Remember, hydration starts from within by simply drinking enough water!!! It will not only give you energy and help with fatigue, it also moisturises your skin, keeps it fresh, plump and smoothes fine lines.

As a beauty salon that specialise in skin care, we have our favourite ranges of skincare that we swear by. Three simple steps at this time of year will do you and your skin the world of good.

1- Hydrate your skin with a great moisturiser. We can help you choose one for your skin type from our Guinot, Clarins or Alumier range.

2-Repair your skin with a good mask or serum such as Alumier ‘Ultimate Boost’.

3-Protect your skin with a sun screen. Did you know that Alumier suncreens only contain Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide which are non damaging to our coral reefs. #saveourplanet (and your skin!)

Whether you are looking for relaxation, results or both, One of our skin consultants will point you in the right direction for your personal skin needs. Please browse our website for treatment descriptions and bookings. As always, please feel free to pop in and see us!

My last well being tips for Spring are :

1- Take some ME time. Have a relaxing massage, a facial, read a book or socialise with friends!

2-Have a spring clean….as a clean home brings a clear mind ( apparently 😉

3.Book an adventure. Travel is Knowledge.
